Employment Tribunals
Due to the growth in tribunal claims as a result of the increasing amount of regulations, it is likely that employers will at some time face tribunal claims from aggrieved employees. Common complaints are that the tribunal service is too adversarial, time-consuming and costly. Small employers particularly, without dedicated or experienced HR personnel, can feel pressurised into settling claims, even when they are likely to win. This is ultimately due to the cost, inconvenience and loss of working time involved in the preparation of defending the claim and attending a tribunal.
With particular knowledge and experience of the media industry which other organisations may not have, this ensures that assistance can be uniquely provided to assist with the management and conduct of a tribunal claim, or, where appropriate, informal workplace resolution. There has been particular success in negotiating settlements at low cost to employers when it has been more appropriate to take that route.
The areas of assistance can be summarized as follows:
- Handling a tribunal application and response
- Review of a case/collation of facts
- Preparation
- Witness statements
- Attendance at tribunal
